Children's Platform
Plother is designed for children ages 4–15 and is accessed by parents or guardians. By using Plother, you confirm you are an adult with parental authority over the child using the platform.
By creating an account or using Plother ("the Service", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Plother is an AI-powered educational platform that provides personalized tutoring, interactive learning activities, homework assistance, spaced-repetition review, and a family management dashboard. The Service is delivered via web application and is intended solely for educational use within a family context.
You must be at least 18 years old and a parent or legal guardian to create a Plother account. The Service is designed for children between the ages of 4 and 15; children may only use Plother under a parent or guardian's account.
By registering, you represent and warrant that (a) you are at least 18 years of age, (b) you have the legal authority to consent on behalf of the child(ren) you add to your account, and (c) all information you provide is accurate and complete.
Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at legal@plother.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
Accurate Information
You agree to provide accurate information about yourself and your child(ren), including age and grade level, so that the AI tutor can provide appropriate content.
Supervision
While Plother includes safety moderation, parents remain responsible for supervising their child's use of the platform and for reviewing the learning content and interactions.
Plother complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA 2025 Rule). As the parent or guardian, you are responsible for:

Plother uses artificial intelligence to generate educational content, hints, explanations, and interactive activities. While we employ pedagogical guardrails and content moderation, AI-generated content may occasionally contain inaccuracies.
Important Notice
AI-generated content is supplemental educational material and does not constitute professional academic advice. Parents are encouraged to review learning sessions and verify important facts with qualified educators. Plother is a tutoring assistant, not a replacement for qualified teachers.

Paid plans include a 14-day free trial. No credit card is charged during the trial period. Subscriptions auto-renew monthly unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor. Plother does not store payment card information. Stripe's privacy practices are governed by their own terms.
If you are not satisfied with a paid subscription, you may request a full refund within 7 days of the charge date by contacting legal@plother.app. Refunds requested after 7 days are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Trial-period cancellations are never charged.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Plother shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or data loss, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Plother in the three months preceding the claim.
You may close your account at any time from Settings → Data & Privacy. Closing your account permanently deletes all associated child profiles and data, consistent with our data retention policy.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably practicable. In cases of serious violations (e.g., COPPA fraud, abuse), termination may be immediate.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec. Users in other jurisdictions may have additional rights under their local consumer protection laws.
